Jon Paul Robbins works in New York City, New York, as an attorney. Robbins is a partner with the law firm called McLaughlin & Stern LLP. This is a respectable law firm in New York City where he specializes in civil litigation—meaning he handles law in which two individuals or organizations have a dispute in which compensation is due to be awarded. Robbins has worked in a wide range of fields, including lender liability, insurance defense, employment discrimination, real estate, art, business dissolution, trusts and estates, anti-trust, sports and entertainment, and insurance defense.

Jon Paul Robbins attended the State University of New York at Binghamton. In 1970 he graduated from SUNY – Binghamton with cum laude honors and went on to attend Cornell University in New York City. Robbins received his Juris Doctorate, graduating with honors, in 1973. Robbins worked on the Cornell Law Review, sitting on the Board of Editors at the scholarly legal journal. He was also a member of a national honorary society for legal students and alumni called The Order of the Coif.

Robbins joined a Manhattan-based law firm after graduating from Cornell University. He worked at that firm, Seward & Kissel, in their litigation department until 1979. He then left that firm to help found Nitkin Alkalay Handler & Robbins, which is a firm that in 1992 merged with McLaughlin & Stern, where Robbins is now a partner.
